Open Access Policy
Open Access Journal
Nova Geodesia is open access (OA) journal, which offers free, immediate, and unrestricted access to peer-reviewed research and scholarly work, due SMTCT supports to increase the visibility, accessibility and reputation of the researchers, regardless of geography and their budgets. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Nova Geodesia is open access, as per DOAJ definition: "OA are journals where the copyright holder of a scholarly work grants usage rights to others using an open license (Creative Commons or equivalent) allowing for immediate free access to the work and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose".
Advantages of Open Access publishing
It allows the dissemination of scientific research results quickly and on a large scale, without cost or other restrictions. New research and ideas can be disseminated to a wide audience, which in turn stimulates and inspires new research studies.
The benefits of the OA publication model are obvious to both readers and authors, as well as to the entire scientific community. Open Access articles reach a wider audience than articles in non-Open Access journals.
The authors have the advantage of a quick publication of the manuscripts, immediately after their acceptance following the peer review process. To ensure immediate dissemination, accepted articles are published in the journal in the Forthcoming section. They can be viewed by any reader, from anywhere in the world, without restrictions and for free. They can be searchable and citable based on the DOI (digital object identifier) and article number, even before being included in a complete issue.
For the readers, open access offers the possibility to see the online content of articles at any time and for free. They do not have to pay, login, register or do anything in exchange for the information provided by the journal. They can read the articles, download them, copy them and share the content without any restriction for legal purposes.
Therefore, OA publication provides free access to scientific knowledge, information and new discoveries, strengthens the basis of transfer in academic education, development and innovation in research and knowledge capitalization.
Open Access articles are extremely visible and are more downloaded and cited more frequently than articles in non-Open Access journals. In this way, the impact of research and results is immediate and without time constraints or other restrictions or resources.
Authors who publish in OA and their institutions can reach more visibility and scientific recognition. Institutions can enhance their profile by participating in or hosting open-access publishing. Funding agencies supporting the research can achieve more prominence.
Access to research results is also possible for researchers with more limited possibilities. Developing countries and small or specialized research institutions and corporations have access to all open access articles. In addition, due to the support of SMTCT, authors from these countries or institutions can publish their research in Nova Geodesia at no cost.
